Reason #84,753...

...that my town kicks your town's ass: It's because when I've been listening to a band for years, like Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys (pictured left, from earlier tonight) and have so far failed to take opportunities to see them live, my town will invite them to play at one of our now-many free summer festivals. It's like these festival organizers are reading my mind. This weekend was La Fete de Marquette in the someday-to-be-completed Central Park. All it took was a 15-minute pedal and I'm there.
